Alana and Giordana speak to Josh of a local art collective about an upcoming fundraiser being held at the Valley Studios. The Connect Four Art Party will raise funds for the Qld Women’s Legal Service and Shirrin from the service tells us about their work assisting women in legal matters. Funds will go towards equipping the QWLS with a lift for better disabled access. Playing at the gig is Little Scout and Mel and Pat perform live in studio. At the Local speaks to the artists behind this life-changing Brisbane Festival multi-media project: Big Square Eye. Artists Alan Nguyen and Kate Geck speak along with project curator Vivian Hogg and young artist Ahmed Halimi about how the project brought a bunch of young people to Brisbane to discover more about digital art and create some incredible pieces of experimental video art. The films will be screened in Retravision stores around the country and opening night is at the Kelvin Grove Creative Industries Precinct- The Block on Saturday 19 July 6pm. For more info check out:
